FREE trial of MarketMeTweet, the multi-featured Twitter client
Just announced as of July 22, 2010:
For a very limited time, you can try my favorite Twitter client, MarketMeTweet, for FREE.
CLICK HERE for all the details and sign up while you can.
So…
Why isn’t MarketMeTweet free, like Tweetdeck and some other Twitter clients?
One reason is because they let you “brand” yourself. Only MarketMeTweet lets you own that tiny but precious “via” spot on every tweet you send out. See the graphic below?
That’s an example of a tweet sent from MarketMeTweet.
Now, normally you’d see something like “via Tweetdeck” or “via HootSuite” in the lower right part of your message, and anyone who clicked that link would be taken that site. Not surprisingly, companies like HootSuite want to keep that “branding real estate” for themselves.
But with MarketMeTweet, you get to own and name that link.
So instead of saying “MarketMeTweet App” like it does in the example above, everyone would see your customized link. It can say what you want (think: keywords!) and link where you want it to (your main website or blog.)
Why not send your followers to YOUR main site instead of some other company’s? Why give another company free advertising on your tweets?
(PS: Owning that link also means you’re building valuable backlinks in Google to your website with every tweet you.)
Back to the subject of free vs fee:
MarketMeTweet is growing in popularity, and they need lots of server space/bandwidth to keep you up and running. And obviously, that costs money.
I used MarketMeTweet with no problems when TweetDeck and even Twitter itself were struggling to keep up with the demands of World Cup traffic this year.
