I am not happy with the new tweet adder, the URL shortener doesn't work, and when I talk to support they respond to me like I am a three year old. In my opinion the whole program is crap. Does anyone know a program that does similar functions but actually works?

I can't even use it. Every time I launch Tweetadder3 (with all the other versions it loaded, like nearly everyone else here) it tells me there's a new version available and shuts down the program.

But the new version is the same version I have installed!

I've been having exactly the same problems as DrBermant. As a software developer, I couldn't believe how poorly the migration was handled from 2010 to 3. Multiple versions, and very poor support. When I complained that there was no way to import my white list and when I followed each person, as well as whether I had already followed/unfollowed someone, all support kept telling me was to click on the Export button on 2010's Search screen (which just exports your "To Follow" list). I felt like I was either talking to someone who didn't understand English, didn't understand the product, was a poor example of a turing engine, or all of the above.

Finally, they just stopped responding to my pleas for help. They clearly either didn't figure this out, or maybe they turned the development project over to a totally new group who never used the original product in a day-to-day basis.

They did release a new version of 2010 that let me use it for a while, rather than forcing me to use 3. But today (8/31) Twitter turned off its old API so 2010 is now useless.

I ended up manually copying my white list from 2010 before it stopped working, but dread having to copy/paste each of the hundreds of names back into 3.

I'm also not sure how I'm going to unfollow those I've followed in the past week using 2010 (I usually wait a week before unfollowing someone who hasn't followed back).

In the past when they've issued an upgrade, the old database always worked. Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend the product because I have no confidence they won't upgrade again at some point and again not migrate my data!

If anyone figures out a way to migrate the old database, please let me know!

Hi,

>I’m sure I can’t be the only one who finds that odd.
No, i am confused about the same problem. The usability of TweetAdder is much worster than the old one. Any ideas for a more convient programm like TweetAdder ?

This is really odd.

My experiences with the same software are totally different. For me, Tweet Adder 3 just works quietly in the background all day, doing its tasks. People are being followed and unfollowed, messages are being sent.

It is highly likely that I'm not a long time power user of Tweet Adder 3 and so I don't have the same experiences and expectations.

I agree with DrBermant that the interface is still counterintuitive, and having to click around, back and forth, is a waste of time.

I appreciate everyone's candor. Please leave suggestions for alternatives to Tweet Adder 3 in these comments, or just add your thoughts on this upgrade if you want to get them off your chest :-)
